LINCOLN SQUARE — The owners of the Davis Theater recently launched a new membership program aimed at helping to maintain the more-than-100-year-old theater and expand its unique programing.

The theater at 4614 N. Lincoln Ave. was first built in 1918 and was originally known as the Pershing Theater, hosting vaudeville acts and silent films.

Over the years, the Davis has been renovated a few times to accommodate changing audience tastes and the way films are screened, the most recent of which was a multimillion-dollar makeover in 2016.

“We’re actually in the process of redoing some of our seats and other things right now, just maintenance-wise. Because we’re coming up on 10 years after the 2016 renovation now,” said Davis’ manager Alec Peterson.

That’s where the new membership program comes in. It launched last month to offer Davis Theater patrons discounts on concessions, tickets, early access to select screenings and a new member-exclusive newsletter. Members will also get free popcorn and a fountain drink on their birthdays. Read More Here.
