What You'll Bring & Do:
- Provide Direct Supervision & Safety: Ensure the safety and well-being of youth within a residential unit.
- Implement Therapeutic Interventions: Utilize TCI techniques and implement individual treatment plans.
- Foster Positive Relationships: Build rapport with youth and create a supportive environment.
- Manage Challenging Behaviors: De-escalate situations and respond effectively to crises.
- Maintain Accurate Documentation: Record client behaviors and progress for Medicaid billing.
- Facilitate Life Skills: Encourage positive social habits and co-facilitate psycho-educational groups.
- Provide Transportation: Transport youth to appointments and activities.
- Administer Medication: Supervise youth self-administration of prescribed medications.
- Collaborate with Team: Participate in team meetings and communicate effectively with staff.
- Maintain Physical Capability: Ability to kneel, stand, and physically restrain youth when necessary.
- Exhibit Personal Characteristics: Bring detail-oriented, reliable, and proactive qualities to the role.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Valid Illinois Driver's License.
- Ability to pass background check and drug screen.
- Ability to obtain and maintain TCI certification.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Preferred: Experience working with youth who have experienced trauma.
Work Environment:
- Exposure to resident behavior problems that may include physical acting out and requires safe physical management skills
- Exposure to residents with complex mental health issues and/or disorders
- Exposure to youth with various states of cleanliness and hygiene
Salary: $41,000 - $55,000 per year, based on experience and education. Includes a base salary and potential for additional compensation.
