At this month's Stammtisch Open Haus, we are celebrating German-American Elvis Presley! From 1958-1960, Elvis, then a sergeant with the U.S. Army, was stationed in West Germany. The Open Haus will be Hawaiian-themed, due to Elvis' fondness for Hawaii. All guests will receive leis. There will be a performance by The Windy City Elvis, Michael St. Angel, in our lovely 6th floor Skyline Lounge.
In addition, Toast Hawaii – a German sandwich created by Clemens Wilmenrod in the 1950’s, when Germany and the United States were both gripped with Hawaii fever -- will be available for purchase. There will also be a full bar available with Blue Hawaiis on special. As a special treat, we will host a silent auction for special Elvis-themed goodies, such as an awesome Elvis-inspired guitar!
