OPENING RECEPTION: "THE ROCKET'S RED GLARE"

Join us for a reception of German-American artist Barbara Diener's show "The Rocket's Red Glare." The exhibition explores the controversial life of Wernher von Braun, a German aerospace engineer who worked for the U.S. government under the program Operation Paperclip, which recruited scientists who had worked for the Nazis. This show explores Wernher von Braun’s life in Huntsville, Alabama where he developed a rocket that traveled to the moon. Rather than simply retelling the complex story, "The Rocket's Red Glare" poses questions and looks at how history is passed on through generations.

The reception will have two shifts, each limited to 25 guests. Please note our COVID-19 safety measures:

  • Masks are required without exception. If using a clear face shield, a mask must be worn underneath.
  • Social distancing will be strictly enforced.
  • You will be asked to wait outside the gallery until ample space is made inside to allow for social distancing.
  • A 30-minute disinfecting period will happen between shifts.
